A curious termophile saxicole species of pink with a very characteristic trifasciculate upper part of the stem. It has three or four distinct subspecies. The typical one, illustrated here is a Dacian - north Balkan element, being restricted to Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia.

In Romania, this species is sporadic across the whole territory and can be locally common, as in Zarand and southern Coxdru Moma mountains, as you can see below.
